Can One Blog Too Much?

I noticed that I have published 95 posts just this December. Actually, this will be the 96th. Given that I'm likely to want to share every aspect of my New Year's Eve festivities with my readers (it is the most important holiday in my culture, so that's to be expected), there will probably be more than 100 posts in a month. That's more than 3 a day.

When I first started blogging, I made efforts to write only once a day. For some reason I thought that this was the way blogging was supposed to work. Gradually, though, I stopped caring about how much I write, and simply blogged whenever I felt like it. Now, however, I wonder if it's too much. Not for me because I really enjoy doing it but for the more regular readers. So if you feel that there are too many posts appearing and that gets annoying, feel free to tell me in the comments section.

Sure write as much as you want! I'm waiting for your Poutine recipe and how about Quebec Sugar Pie? Have you ever tried to make Sugar pie with Birch syrup instead of Maple sugar? Birch syrup is a bit pricey since it takes about 100 L of sap to make 1 L of syrup as opposed to 40 L of maple sap to make 1 L of syrup but it has a carmel flavour which is quite good.

Thank you, Canukistani!

I don't think I even tried the sugar pie. I don't like sweet things, so I very rarely eat them.

What are you talking about? don't we all know that more is always better?

I agree, write all you want to. We can pick the ones we're most interested in and focus on those. I have to admit, I admire your output!

Thank you, guys, I feel a lot better about my blabbiness now!

I don't mind it. My experience with bloggers though is that many, even the "elite" ones, lose steam. They either start regurgitating ideas from the main themes of their blogs or simply don't post as much. But it is probably foolish to expect anything to last forever. You talk about everything though and your contrarian views are refreshing. How long exactly do you see yourself blogging?

Seeing how good blogging has been for lowering my high blood pressure, I hope to continue doing it in perpetuity.

I don't think I'll ever run out of book reviews and funny teaching stories. And there is also a huge untapped pool of funny anecdotes that I haven't even started writing about: dating, relationships, etc. Boy, do I have a lot to say about that or what! :-)

So not to worry, this is not going to get repetitive just yet. :-)

Keep it up! I love reading your posts. The only quibble I have is that I can't read them in full on Google Reader, but I understand if you want the click-throughs. (I'd probably click through anyway, but I get it.)

Thank you, Meredith! I have never used Google Reader, believe it or not, but maybe I should try. I'm curious how my blog looks in it.

I certainly enjoy your posts and the discussions that follow, but wouldn't like to see you burn out or have you feel like a gladiator performing in a circus. I hope the insomnia got better. :)

No! Definitely not too much, I enjoy your blog quite a bit. The only problem is that I sometimes can't keep up on comments :-) Also the Google Reader thing, but I'd probably click through a lot anyway to read comments. Keep writing!

Happy New Year!

And I really like that you blog so often. I've been blogging a little less lately, but am sure it will pick up in the new year.
