The U.S. House of Representatives has just voted to bar Planned Parenthood health centers from all federal funding for birth control, cancer screenings, HIV testing, and other lifesaving care.
It is the most dangerous legislative assault in our history, and it cannot go unanswered. We — Planned Parenthood and the three million women, men, and teens who are at risk of losing access to basic care — need you to stand united with us now.
Sign our open letter to every single representative in the House who voted for this cruel, unconscionable, unthinkable law, and to every senator who still has a chance to stop it.

So... federal money funds purity balls but not Planned Parenthood? Peaches and cream.
I'm also reminded of the rush in which federal funding was chopped off for ACORN on univestigated video-footage charges, and those footage and charges both provided to be spurious. There is no rush, of course, in restructuring investment/banking, regulating HMOs, or improving public grade school education.
I find all of this completely unbelievable. What kind of a deluded fool thinks that this country needs LESS Planned Parenthood? I'm floored.
But I guess it was to be expected the moment the Republicans won the elections. When did they care about anything other than campaigning against other people's sexuality?
Cancer screenings? HIV testing? Even ignoring the birth control issue, Planned Parenthood provides these things free of charge. Many people near where I live can't afford such costly tests, and I know the same is true in most cities.
Especially since the government keeps saying that the HIV epidemic is getting worse, and that everyone should be screened for cancer and other STD's at some point. Do they even realize how hypocritical they're being?
