Jewish Americans for Sarah Palin

Contrary to the popular stereotypes that all Jews are super smart, I have to confess that there are sad exceptions among us in terms of intelligence:
Jewish Americans for Sarah Palin is an independent group of academic, religious and political leaders, dedicated to promoting consideration of Gov. Sarah Palin’s political positions in the wider American Jewish community. We find Ms. Palin’s policy positions on Israel, Iran, national security, fiscal responsibility, energy, and social policy – as well as her record on these issues as governor of Alaska and candidate for Vice President of the United States – to be serious, substantive and politically mainstream. Though not at present a candidate for any political office, Gov. Palin’s track record in public office has been exemplary.
I wonder what their take is on Palin's statements that the US is a Christian nation.

I think I'll stick with hoping that this is some kind of Evangelical propaganda.

I am sorry for saying the politically incorrect thing, but I am surprised that you are surprised. My impression is that, regardless of their level of intelligence, the main factor which determines the attitude of the majority of North American Jews towards any government is its willingness to unconditionally support Israel. Promising to bomb Iran gives double points...

P.S. I understand everybody. I understand Israelis being scared by Iran. And Ahmadinejad is indeed a Holocaust denier and a Jew-hater. But I also understand Iran's wish to be strong enough to prevent possible US aggression. After all, nobody attacks North Korea, which, unlike Iraq, DOES have WMD and is LESS democratic.

I understand being scared of Iran but still, Iran is kind of farther away than the Evangelicals who scream that this is an all-Christian country. I thought that these statements would kind of mean something more than what is happening all the way across the globe in Israel. As much as one might care about Israel, it does make sense to care about what is happening right where yoy live as well.

P.S. Politically incorrect is always welcome on this blog. :-)

I know it is true in general, but I am still reluctant to tell I understand Iran in a blog of a person who posts pictures of herself with Star of David :)

It is actually really ridiculous: if we have some celebration, we have to invite our Iranian friends and our Israeli friends on different days...

My Magen David is totally unpolitical. It's just pretty. :-)

Now, however, it has been completely appropriated by my entirely Russian husband. Go figure, eh? :-)

Hm... What does he do with it?

He wears it, what else? I guess I should get him a yarmulke now. :-)

That's what I suspected. But then my mind got a little bit carried away... :) So I decided to ask.

I tremble to ask what did you suspect? :-) :-)

Judging by the presence of two smiles in your response we understood each other correctly. :)
