The funniest thing is that these so-called doctors would not be able to make a living without women. They need us for their livelihood but they hate us all the same. They use these vile intimidation techniques in hopes that if you show these cartoonishly stupid pictures of fetuses - that have no connection with reality whatsoever - women would be bullied into feeling bad for controlling their own bodies.
Why don't we see this, a lot more realistic picture on the walls of our gynecologists' offices? Why should we be exposed to lies and humiliations when we go to a see a doctor? What would we think of a cardiologist who put up the following picture on his wall to illustrate what your heart looks like after a heart attack:
If we were confronted by this silly cartoon in a cardiologist's office, we'd say he is an illiterate quack, wouldn't we? So why should we hold Ob-Gyns to a different standard? Why should we be fed lies right in the doctor's office? Is it too much to expect that I doctor would come to work to treat patients, not to brainwash them?If a doctor greets you wth lies the second you enter his office, how can you trust anything he says?
Why is it that women cannot be left in peace - without somebody rushing over to hector, brainwash, humiliate and patronize us - even we seek medical care?

I really have no luck with OB-GYNs. I always meet some really weird ones.
The fetus at 12 weeks is well formed in that the major structures have been made, and now need to grow. A realistic picture would show a 12 week fetus as blood red, since the skin is thin and there is zero fat.
What are your geographic limitations? As for the OB portion of care, there are limited numbers of OB docs in St. Clair County due to its reputation for large malpractice awards. Many women seeking OB care go over to MO.

It's impossible to find good pictures or diagrams of fetal development (except sonograms which I don't want to post because that invades people's privacy) because there is so much garbage generated by fanatical religious anti-abortionists. It's impossible to find good, realistic pictures where a fetus at 2 weeks does not smile and way its perfectly formed little hand.
We can scan my ultrasound pictures and you can post them! I remember proudly showcasing the 12-week pictures to family members (yourself included!). The main questions were: -Where is the baby? - Oh, is that the head? - Is that a tail? - How can you tell it's a baby?

P.S: Even my 20-week ones did not seem to elicit much excitement as you still couldn't tell what was what.
Exactly! As beautiful as the baby turned out to be when she was born, on those sonograms there wasn't much to admire. :-) :-)
