Post as much or as little as you like. You should not feel obligated to post more or less often. Forcing yourself either way will effect the quality of the posts.
I voted for the third option, but imo optimally one should post every time one has a desire for it and has something interesting to say. It's a pity to lose a wonderful post because of misguided thinking "I posted too much today". Sometimes, in the grip of the moment the words flow like they won't afterwards.
100% agree with BenYitzhak.
Some of my favourite bloggers regularly (each several months) take breaks for 2-3 weeks, others have periods of posting very often and periods of nothing at all. It's very private, individual matter. Book writers don't write the same way, at some "standard" velocity either.
I also think you should post whenever you have something you want to post about.
Since you're not being paid to blog, you shouldn't feel you have any obligation to provide x amount of content. The reason people blog for no money is that they like to, so it seems like it would be counterproductive to try and write more if your heart's not in it.

Thank you, everybody!
I was always afraid people feel I post too much, so it's nice to know that most people are happy with things the way they are.
