Dreaming of Barcelona

What sense does it make that I've never been to Barcelona? All of my favorite writers are from there. I read so much about it, it sometimes feels like I could take guided tours around the city. Why haven't I been, I wonder.

People who have visited Barcelona say it's the most beautiful city in the world.

Oh yes it's a wonderful place. I came here eight years ago and decided to stay. The first days, and months were the best. Then somehow you forget, work and life take a toll on you. But there's always those days when you remember the beauty of the city and those wonderful first days.

If you ever decide to come around I'll be glad to show you around.

Also if you have any questions regarding the city I'll gladly answer them.

It's so great to hear from a reader in Barcelona! Oh, you are lucky.

What's the best time in the year to go?

You can come here year around. The weather is good all time. (That is if you come from the north).

Holy week and August should be avoided though. During that time, there are only tourists, and very few locals, all are off on holidays, so there's very little chance to interact with them.

I guess the best time is Spring and early Fall. When it's not too crowded and you can enjoy the must suntime (and it isn't that hot either).

Maybe next spring break I'll go. I've been hoping to find a conference in Barcelona that would be within my area of interest and will work time-wise but no such luck yet.

I love Barcelona. I spent a few summers there learning some Catalan. It's definitely worth visiting.
