Feminized Brain

Dr. Phil just announced that a man who wants to have a sex-change operation has "a feminized brain" and it "has to do with hardwiring." I think Dr. Phil needs to be outlawed. He was funny at first but when we get into the territory of discussing "feminized brains" on national television, that's really too much. What's next? The myth of the itinerant uterus will be revived or what?

So, what terminology would you use to describe someone who is transsexual? I know several of them, and the situation of feeling that you are one sex while your body, stubbornly, is another, is a serious issue for these people. It cannot be just dismissed. I am not personally acquainted with any female-to-male transsexuals, but the problem is just as serious for them, from what I hear secondhand.

I want to begin by saying that I believe such people should in no way be prevented from undergoing sex-change operations. It's their body, they should feel free to do whatever with it.

I do think, however, that they have been duped by the patriarchal ideology into believing that there is some special being a woman (man) or feeling like a woman (man). These are the most obvious and tragic casualties of the patriarchal gender essentialism.

Oh, we so need to revive the wandering womb! After that we can fumigate our lady parts...

I also think this but most people don't get that.

So it was funny as long as it was about something you didn't care directly about ?

Psychoanalyzing people in 45 minutes doesn't sound like a good idea to begin with, truth to be told.

"At first" means 9 years ago when his show first started. It was pretty different then. Dr. Phil dared to say unpleasant truths to bored housewives in his audience.

Dr. Phil is opposed to psychoanalysis and never practiced it in his life. he is into psychotherapy which is extremely different.
